"Speed was okay, but I was a little cautious"
I tried Instant Checkmate mostly because I wanted to see how quickly it could pull up results, but I’ll admit I was also a little worried about getting fooled by something that looked fast but didn’t really deliver. It wasn’t painfully slow, but it also didn’t feel super speedy.
A couple of searches loaded quickly, which was nice, but then other pages took longer than I expected. I ended up waiting around a bit and even had to refresh once, which made me second-guess whether it was working properly.
In the end, it did work, so I wouldn’t say it was a bad experience. The speed just felt hit or miss to me, and because I’m always a little skeptical of these kinds of services, I’d call it average overall

"I searched thinking I had a good idea..."
I searched thinking I had a good idea of the cost, but then extra fees showed up afterward. It just felt a little off, like the pricing wasn’t being shown clearly upfront.

"Didn’t feel as trustworthy as other sites"
I tried it once and kind of regretted entering my information. Compared to other services I’ve used, this one just didn’t feel very clear about privacy or where my data was going. Maybe it’s fine, but I didn’t feel comfortable enough to keep using it...

"I was expecting the report to be..."
I was expecting the report to be accurate, but some of the info looked wrong to me. Maybe I’m misunderstanding part of it, but it didn’t really match what I was looking for...

"Of course I ended up being the..."
Of course I ended up being the one who ran into a problem, which was frustrating, but I’ll give them credit, customer support got it fixed quickly once I reached out.

"I tried instantcheckmate.com thinking I’d get a pretty..."
I tried instantcheckmate.com thinking I’d get a complete report, but maybe half the info was missing or looked really outdated. A couple of the addresses were wrong, and there were only a few useful details that I didn’t already know. For the money, it felt like I paid around just to see mostly basic stuff I could’ve found myself. Not really worth it for me...

"Canceling was way more annoying than I expected"
I signed up for Instant Checkmate because I thought I’d use it once, get what I needed, and then cancel. After trying it out, the information just wasn’t useful enough for me to keep paying for it, so I figured I’d just go find the cancel option and be done with it.

That ended up being the most frustrating part. I had to click around more than I expected, and the whole process felt like it was made harder than it needed to be. Maybe other people have a different experience, but for me, it left a bad impression and I wouldn’t use it again.

"Easier than I honestly expected"
I gave it 4 stars because I was expecting the site to be a little frustrating, but it was actually simple to figure out. I found what I needed without much trouble, which was a nice surprise. A couple pages took a bit longer to load than I would’ve liked, so it wasn’t perfect, but overall it was easy to use and way less confusing than some other sites I’ve dealt with.

Instant Checkmate Q&A

Is it possible for me to enroll in a free trial?

“In May, I attempted to locate a friend from years ago. Initially, I used Google and came across these individuals. I decided to use their services, thinking that one search would be sufficient. I provided my credit card information, but unfortunately, I received very limited, or rather, no results at all, so I moved on and forgot about it. Clearly, this is my own fault: I have been receiving credit card bills for the past four months without realizing that the "one-time" charge was being repeated monthly. I probably would have continued this if they hadn't sent me an email notification last night regarding the upcoming automatic payment for my Instant Checkmate subscription. It took me about 45 minutes (mostly spent waiting to be served as the next customer) to gather the necessary information and visit ICM's website. Fortunately, canceling the subscription was much easier than my previous experience ten years ago when I had to cancel the three movie channels that were automatically included with my DishNet subscription.”

“If you begin filling out the subscription form but decide to cancel before completing it, they will provide a 5-day trial for just $1. However, it is not even worth that amount.”

Is it possible for me to genuinely view other people's text messages and social media messages?

“This is a straightforward scam.”

“No, it's definitely a complete scam!”

“No, you cannot view anyone's call log or text messages. Initially, it cost $1.98 to gain access to the report. After paying the $1.98, I clicked on "access report" again and was then prompted to choose a membership, with the lowest option being $22. Most options informed me that I would be charged the same day, but the cheapest membership did not mention this, although it still required immediate payment. So, in total, it cost around $24 to see information that could have easily been found on Google. When I reached the phone log section, it stated that I was "stuck" and would likely need to pay more money, which is ridiculous considering I had already selected a membership. This is a complete scam with no way around it, shaking my head.”

“These "services" are essentially a complete waste of your time and money.”

Is that some kind of scam or something?

“Sure.”

“This is an absolute, complete, and total scam. Unless, of course, they are the most delusional individuals to have ever existed and genuinely believe they are providing a valuable service.”

“This answer appears to be incomplete. Could you please provide more context or specify what you would like me to rewrite?”

I believe I have been deceived. It appears that I have been enrolled in your Premium service without my consent or authorization, and I have no intention of paying the extra $19.95 fee. Please remove this charge from my account. I only requested the $1.00 5-day service and the $1.99 PDF charge, nothing more.

“You should contact your credit card company immediately and file a dispute for the purchase, stating that the goods were never delivered despite being ordered. Provide a detailed explanation of the situation, and they will take the necessary steps to remove the charge from your account. It's important to act quickly, as you only have a 30-day window to do so.”

“Fraud is a deceptive and illegal act that involves intentionally deceiving others for personal gain. It is a serious crime that can result in severe consequences, including financial loss, damage to reputation, and legal penalties. It is important to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect oneself from falling victim to fraud.”

“I would recommend contacting your bank or credit card company immediately to report the charge as fraudulent.”

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with these individuals to cancel my subscription? The phone number they provided is no longer active, and I'm quite concerned. Thank you in advance.

“I assume you don't have an account with JP Morgan Chase because if these individuals charge my card again, I will definitely file a dispute to reclaim my money. I can't understand how this situation is even allowed by the law.”

“You should still exercise caution when canceling the service, as they may still charge you even if you have a new credit card. It is important to carefully read the terms of use. In my case, they charged my new card even though I never registered it. It seems that they have other search engines operating under them, so when you make a payment, like for People Search, be vigilant and keep your eyes open. It may be a good idea to set up an alert on your card to receive notifications of any transactions, or inform your bank about the situation and all the entities associated with them. Then, send them a demand for payment or a letter of intent, which can be found for free online. Clearly state that they have five days to refund all the money they have taken and charged to your card. If they fail to respond within this timeframe, inform them that you will file a class action lawsuit and charge them interest at the highest rate allowed by the state. This is your first and final notice, and it is in their best interest to resolve this matter promptly to avoid any further action. Please do not ignore this request. I followed these steps and also requested to be removed from their database, asking them not to sell, give, or trade my information to anyone, and to immediately destroy all my data. Thank you. P.S. A class action lawsuit is currently pending. I did it and it worked for me. Good luck. (Email: joseesp88@--gn)”

“The only positive aspect that occurred was when I promptly called to cancel just a few minutes after signing up, and I encountered no difficulties.”

orangebear874

“There should be a specific number associated with the charge on your credit card statement. However, it is highly unlikely that you will have much success in resolving the issue by contacting them, just like the rest of us have experienced. In my case, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company.”
